Bluebonnet Program
The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program was established in 1979 to motivate students in grades 3 through 6 to read outstanding NEW children’s literature. A committee of teachers and librarians choose the 20 books to be included on the Bluebonnet list each year. Students all across Texas who read five or more books on the list have the privilege of voting for their favorite book.

Read It Forward
90 copies of our RIF book will be placed randomly around school. We will place a few copies out each day of the week. They may be in the cafeteria, hallway, office, and even some classrooms. You never know where a RIF book may appear! If students find a RIF book, they can pick it up, give it a read, and forward it to the next person to enjoy! Not your thing? Then simply find someone to pass the book to who will enjoy reading it. These are not library books, so please do not return them to the library! After students finish reading the book, they can sign the inside, forward it on, and come to the library to receive a RIF bracelet and a ticket to enter a drawing for a Kindle.
